Sandboarding and more

Namibia sandboarding

SANDBOARDING is a similar sport to snowboarding but takes place on sand covered dunes rather than snow-covered mountains. You can try out Lie-Down or Stand-Up Boarding. Personally tried out by Louise and her husband Mark, it is one big adrenaline rush as you shoot down the dunes head first reaching speeds of 70km/hour plus. No experience is necessary, a brief instruction is given on the spot on how to stop and steer the board: lay down, chin up, hold the front end of the board up, elbows in….and down you go… Tandem toboggan with your partner is also immense fun and giggles galore.

Paragliding six senses resort Oman

PARAGLIDE to your resort… a novel way to arrive! For those staying at the luxury resort Six Senses Zighy Bay there is now the option for a thrilling and exhilarating entrance by paragliding into the resort (always subject to wind conditions). Six Senses Zighy Bay is situated on the Musandam Peninsula in Northern Oman. A road has been specially carved through the mountains to reach the resort which took 5 years to build so for those who prefer a less dramatic entrance they can arrive in air-conditioned comfort in a 4 x 4 vehicle. A stay at the beautiful Six Senses Zighy Bay in your own private villa with pool partners perfectly with a stay in Dubai after your African, Far Eastern or Australasian adventures.

Iceland

JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH… Picture yourself descending 120 metres into a dormant volcano. Can you imagine what an emotional and remarkable experience this must be? Are we crazy? Not at all…

This is one of the thrilling excursions you can take whilst holidaying in Iceland or during a stopover in Reykjavik enroute to the USA or Canada. Only available between the 15th May and the 30th September, the duration of the tour is around 5-6 hours (pick up and drop off Reykjavik) with approximately 35-40 minutes inside the volcano.

What do you need to experience this unique natural phenomenon? You must be able to undertake a moderate 45-50 minute hike to get to the crater and be brave enough to descend 120 metres to the bottom of the crater in an open cable lift!
