Swimming with Whale Sharks

The Maldives is one of the best places in the world for diving but there is a special area in the region of the South Ari Atoll which is very fortunate to have a population of whale sharks all year round, the most of which are youngsters. You do not have to be a certified diver to see these amazing animals as it is possible to snorkel alongside them!

In case you are worried about snorkelling with sharks, whale sharks only eat minute, organisms including krill, jellyfish and crab larvae, which are strained from the water through the shark's gills.
