Lions on a Kopje - The Serengeti

There are some places that exceed every expectation, and the Serengeti is certainly one of them.

Covering vast open plains that seem to stretch endlessly towards the horizon, the Serengeti is one of Africa's most iconic wildlife destinations. It's a place where lions rest beneath acacia trees - and peer down at you from unusual rock formations (called kopjes), elephants roam in large herds across the savannah, and every game drive brings the possibility of something extraordinary. On one of ours, the highlight was observing ostriches mating!

What struck us most, however, was not just the wildlife. It was the sheer scale of the landscape, the endless horizons, and the feeling of being in one of the world's last great wilderness areas. Watching the sunset over the plains, seeing animals in their natural habitat, and experiencing the rhythm of life in this remarkable wild place are memories that will stay with us forever.

Here are a few photographs from our time in this truly special corner of Tanzania.
